D: This week Steph chose ‘Cherry Hooker’ [S: Have we noticed that I pick drinks with the most random names ever?!] which is an interesting name for a drink.. And I chose a Lychee Martini; mainly because like 3 years ago I received a bottle of Soho for Secret Santa at work.. and I still hadn’t opened that. Since a Lychee Martini is basically the only way I can find to use it, other than just drinking basically lychee syrup and alcohol, we’re going to give that drink a go! HER DRINK:## [Chery Hooker] Ingredients:## 3oz cherry brandy Orange Juice...…
French Onion Soup
D: More soup! Steph wanted to do French Onion Soup this week (S: More that we were bouncing ideas off each other, and we agreed on this one), and I was onboard with that, as I haven’t had onion soup in ages and I do enjoy it. So we’re giving Michael Smith’s recipe a go. Ingredients:## 1/2 stick of butter 2TBsp of vegetable oil 4 large onions, peeled and thinly sliced a splash of water salt & pepper 1/2C brandy, sherry, cognac or fortified wine [we used Medeira] 4C chicken broth leaves from 2 sprigs of fresh thyme salt &...…

Chicken Noodle Soup
S: So my poor hubster has been feeling a little bit blue for the past 5 days or so. So I decided to do this week’s recipe all on my lonesome, while he had a chance to recover from the nasty cough. On the theme of sickness, I decided to best recipe to use this week, is a Chicken Noodle Soup one, from Chef Michael Smith. There’s technically two parts to it 1) making homemade broth 2) making the actual chicken noodle soup. I left out the broth recipe, and will include that another time. D: So since I seem...…
White Russian and Cosmopolitan
D: This week, counter to what you might assume, Steph is trying a White Russian and I’m giving a Cosmopolitan a try. I’m a pretty pretty princess! Largely, I’ve been doing whiskey-based drinks non-stop and wanted to try something different, and it’s there. I obviously don’t even drink girl drinks, so I figured it’d be an experiment [S: Fruity drink… not girly drink.]. HER DRINK: [White Russian] Ingredients: 1 part vodka 1 part coffee liqeuer (Kahlua) 2 parts cream Needed items: Old Fashioned Glass Fill an Old Fashioned glass with ice and add vodka and coffee liqueur. Slowly pour the...…
Steakhouse Mushroom Stew
D: Steph was flipping through the book and came across this stew recipe. I was pretty suspicious, but figured we’d give it a shot. I imagine it being served alongside a meat pie in a pub, or a steak; something like that.
