S: So I think after this week… I’m going to stop buying new booze for a bit. My wallet’s crying lots. BUT on the more optimistic side, yay pretty much having enough variety to make tons of mixed drinks. I’m also trying a new thing for these posts… video! Let me know your thoughts. I was craving a drink with ginger beer this week, so I chose the Dark Wings. It also involves using blackberry liqueur, which I’ve never seen before, and almost didn’t see it at the liquor store. If you ever want to grab it, find it in...…

Cuban Coffee and Caesar
D: So I’ve been craving a Caesar lately (because they’re freakin delicious), and Steph chose a Cuban Coffee (for reasons, I don’t know; but you can’t go wrong with alcoholic coffee). We all know the Caesar will be delicious, but we’ll see how the Cuban Coffee turns out. S: I like Baileys, I like coffee… so I decided to go for that. But definitely do NOT (unless you’re immune to the caffeine in coffee), make this at like 9pm at night. I’m still mildly wired from last night’s drink. I think I slept an hour max? HIS DRINK: [Caesar] Ingredients:...…
Polar Bear and Privateer
D: Steph continuing with the rum drinks. Me… violating the plan and doing something outside of The Home Bartender and doing a Polar Bear. Largely because I’ve been craving Polar Bears lately. HIS DRINK: [Polar Bear] Ingredients: 1 part creme de cacao 1 part peppermint schnappes 1/2 part vodka Needed items: Shot glass or other small shooter glass Pour vodka, creme de cacao...…
Cuban Redhead and Mint Julep
S: David’s busy making banana bread right now… [D: ring ring ring ring ring ring ring BANANA BREAD! doo doo dee doo doo doo~] so I’m taking over the #ThirstyThursday blog this week. He’ll add his comments along the way. [ting tong ting tong ting tong ting BANANA BREAAAAD] The above picture is our precariously put together ‘bar top’. As we began to do our #ThirstyThursday posts… we realized we truly didn’t have as many alcoholic drinks/mixers as we thought we did. [D: but… but… the boom says you only need a few bottles :( ] So as the weeks...…
A Labour Day Week Away in the County
S: So far this year, since we got married in October (last year), we haven’t really gone on a long vacation (this doesn’t include weekends away, or our honeymoon). Since labour day landed on the same week as the hubster’s birthday, we decided that taking that week off would be a nice idea. So far, we’ve only done day trips to Prince Edward County. One day is most definitely not enough time to explore all that there is to offer in The County; granted I’m not sure the 5 days we had was enough either. We like to not rush...…
